We’re going where the sun shines brightly

At least that’s what we hope.

I don’t know about you, but I find packing for a holiday really stressful.

Knowing that it stresses me out makes me annoyed.

As someone who gets paid to be an organised person I should be able to pack a suit case without having a meltdown right?

Usually I’ll start to prepare a week before. You know checking out all the miniature size holiday products in Boots, panicking about exposing pasty white flesh pool side and of course the fatal glance at reviews of your hotel on trip advisor.

Then there’s the annual ‘check the passports are where you think they should be’ which to be honest, they are always in the same place but there is still a need to check, just incase someone else came into your house without you knowing and put them elsewhere.

There is the essential ‘have I washed every piece of clothing that I own even though I’m not taking my whole wardrobe?’

How many spare pairs of pants should I pack?

What if my suitcase is too heavy and I have to leave things behind and repack at the check in desk?

Along with, where’s my ticket, will my toiletries leak over all my clothes, will hotel really exist?

What I forget something- oh yeah, that’s right. Where I’m going there are shops so I can probably get what I need there. (there was one holiday where I forgot my mascara. Never again!)

It’s enough to make you need a holiday

Oh wait!

That’s right, this is all for a holiday.

I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with more house news..a teaser for you though is that that windows have arrived!

  1. This made me laugh so much! It’s so far away from my packing approach. In fact last time we went on a big trip Andy found my passport in the recycling sack which was tied up outside our doorstep, just an hour or so before we needed to leave. So the idea that your passports are always in the right place impresses me no end.
