Father Christmas and I both have a love of lists.
There is something very satisfying about writing down the things you need to do and then crossing them off when they are done. And Christmas is the perfect time to write a list to at least look organised even if you don’t feel like it.
I’m not one for using my phone for my list writing. I like to use a good old-fashioned pen and paper.
This could also be because I love stationary and looking in paperchase.
First on my christmas list was to finish making my garland and that I have done.
At the moment she is tastefully stuck to the wall with blutak because I was a bit worried that using the trusty staple gun or tacking in some nails might make the wall fall down.
Second on the list was to get a tree. Ours smelt a lot like cat’s wee so we also have a nice smelling candle too.
It seems to be working.
And thirdly (ok, so I don’t really only have three things on this list but for the sake of this blog let’s pretend) was to get a christmas jumper.
We were invited to a Christmas jumper party this year and it was fab!
I didn’t get around to buying a festive knit but instead got some christmas wrapping paper and made a paper jumper that I sellotaped on to an actual jumper. My husband you will recall got his jumper a while ago.
Part of the reason for me not getting a jumper was because while I was looking in the shops I got easily distracted by many other things. Mainly shiny and sparkly things.
Like a magpie.
One thing I’ve never understood about sparkly Christmas fashion is that it is almost nearly always short-sleeved or a thin fabric which just doesn’t work for me when the weather is cold, so I for one am pleased the Christmas jumpers are now the in-thing and less of a Bridget Jones I’m only wearing this because Aunty Maud knitted it and is coming for lunch today.
If however you do opt for a sheer number, then I recommend uniqlo heat tech for keeping warm! I don’t care if you think I’m an old lady – it’s warm and that is good.
They even have Orla Kiely patterned ones – AMAZEBALLS!
